Easter

The kids were so excited for Easter this year! We tried to emphasize the importance of Easter and Jesus Christ and His Ressurection, and the kids really seemed to understand the significance. They are at an age where we can really see them grasping for knowledge. I love it!

THE FUN FESTIVITIES

The night before Easter (yes, can you believe we are at that time of year when it's past 7 pm and it's daylight out!) we dyed Easter Eggs. The kids LOVED it! We only did 15 eggs but it was enough for them.

He was so serious when he was trying to transfer the egg. It's funny, because usually he is the hyper one that rushes through everything. But he was pound and determined to protect his precious eggs! lol..

The Easter Bunny was going to put all the kids stuff in one big basket this year  (we were trying to avoid them getting too much candy and the Bunny only brought about 4 candies for each kid and then two big items to share) but the kids were so excited when they saw their baskets from last year, so they each got their own...here the kids are preparing to set them out for the Easter Bunny.

THE LOOT!

They each got a chocolate bunny, a little box of egg gobstoppers, a ring pop, and a little carton of mini egg gums and a Cadbury Egg. They got two boxes of peeps to share (Man, I forgot how nasty those things are!), and Tangled and Monopoly DS game which McKade has been wanting for a long time and loves that game....I played it and have to say, I love it. lol....

The story about Peeps in our family goes back to my teen years, when my parents still stuffed our Easter baskets even though we "knew" about the Easter Bunny. My dad was in charge of collecting all the goods one year, happened to wait until the night before when the stores had nothing left, and the next morning we woke to all different colors of Peeps. Thanks Dad! There was lots of laughs over that one...still is in fact. So now it's tradition to buy at least one or two packs of peeps.

McKade

 Molly...wild woman hair and a smile! That's my girl! She loved all her candy and wanted to try a little bit of each right away...

After church we went to my parents and had Easter dinner with them and my grandma (who makes the best yams by the way!) and my mom made the best ham. Gosh, the whole dinner was delish! We watched Tangled, talked, and just had a very relaxing and good time!

Lastly, Tanner cracked me up laughing at this one....So they also had a little Easter egg hunt around the great room. I had told Tanner the night before that when he woke up he could go look at his basket but he couldn't eat any candy (I knew it would be gone in about 2 seconds if he wasn't told that...and Tanner and candy don't quite mix well...) So he was a good boy and didn't touch his candy...however, on to the egg hunt...that kid got almost every single egg that was hidden but like two. Do u wanna know how? After he delivered his egg stash to me, he pulls me down and whispers in my ear...." Mom, I found all the eggs the Easter Bunny hid before you guys got up, and put them in new spots so that I would find them and not McKade and Molly." Yes...that is my 5 year old and he's brilliant...lol!
