Tanner turned 5 on Dec 29. We always try to do something a little extra on his birthday because it's smack dab during the holidays. So to celebrate the importance of this day we give him a choice of something fun he wants to go do. This year he chose to go see Tangled. We had been wanting to go see it and hadn't the chance yet, so it was a perfect choice. And a perfectly cute movie. We asked Tanner who he wanted to invite and he said he wanted his most special people. Us, Gram and Papa, and Grammy.
If you haven't seen Tangled I highly recommend it! It also won Best Cartoon of the Year over Dispicable Me. Even my dad completely enjoyed it and he is 55!
After the movie we went to a new Mexican restaurant La Paz for dinner. We used to go to Casa Ramos all the time and our favorite waitress Loraine was always so fun and nice to us. Then one day she disappeared and we didn't know what happened to her. Of course they wouldn't tell us either. So my mom and dad decided to try out La Paz one night and what do you know! They found Loraine and its her new restaurant. So Tanner had his birthday dinner there and the food was delish!
Finally we were off to Gram and Papa's to open presents and eat cake. Tanner got really cool GI JOE stuff from his grandparents which he loves, loves, loves. He also got a Donkey Kong Mario DS game from us and the Jokester Fun House (this coordinates with McKade's BatCave he got for Christmas so now they both can play interactively) and Grammy got him a battleship. He was in seventh heaven.
Tanner wanted a snake cake. So I made cupcakes and made them into a snake.
And a mouse to go with the snake....that little bugger was hard to make. and frost. and just ignore the fact that the mouse is like twice as big as the snake......lol.
