Yesterday was McKade's first day of his third year of preschool!
McKade went to school as Indiana Jones. He was so excited to put on his new khaki pants. and if you would have asked him about his pants he would have called them "khaki pants" not just pants. So funny that child! He also wore a brown jacket just like Indi but we convinced him to take it off during the class time. Too hot. However he had his pouch of course!
Sometimes I wonder when this little phase is going to die down but honestly, I think we are in it for the long haul...he's still going strong being Dr. Jones!
McKade could have started Kindergarten this year but we decided with his summer birthday and the fact he would be one of the youngest kids in his class to keep him back a year. He will be going to a small school but we still didn't want him to feel like he was always struggling to keep up, socially and academically. Before he had glasses he didn't want to do much of anything academically but now he's writing his name and doing math problems and has way more interest. I feel we made the right choice....and his doctor yesterday stated she was happy we weren't pushing him.
Speaking of yesterday, McKade also had his well child. He's a healthy growing boy. He chatted it up the whole time with Dr. O and they talked all about Indiana Jones. (thank goodness she was a fan of the movies and knew what he was talking about!) McKade even drew her pictures of the whip, gun, pouch, and hat and they stuck it in his chart. McKade is 75% in height and 90% in weight. Steady since birth..... unfortunately he had to have two shots yesterday which didn't please him whatsoever! Once the kids are 3 and start knowing what the "shot" business is all about, they get a special treat. Of course McKade picked something that was "Indiana Jones" from the toy store.....
And the best news of all besides the fact that he is protected against polio and (I think it was tdap) is NO MORE SHOTS UNTIL HE IS 11 !!!! WAHOO!!!!
I LOVE MY BOY!

How awesome is that to have Grandma as a teacher? I totally agree with the whole summer birthday thing and having them wait. Marcus will two years of preschool before he starts kindergarten because of his June bday. Plus, with his speech being behind I think it can only help and make him more confident when he does start. Sorry about Saturday - you forgive me, right?
We waited with Payton as well. Although we had people disagreeing with that choice, we had our own reasons and are pleased with it. McKade looks so cute with his glasses!
Thankyou Traci and Clarissa! Seriously its funny how people let their opinions be know.... but we definatly think we made the right choice. :-)
